Last Show?
WHAT'S UP TORRID FANS AND FRIENDS
We have some news that you might want to read. Alot of things have happened over the last little while and it's time to tell you all what the deal is. TORRID is officially taking some time off. We WILL NOT BE PLAYING ANYMORE SHOWS either in Grand Rapids or anywhere else for a while.
We will be releasing 1 more album with 5-6 songs on it sometime later this year. We haven't decided if we're going to play any shows to support this release, or if it will just be sold online, but at least you will all be able to get yourselves a copy of Torrid's final work to keep for yourselves.

Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to give out a HUGE thanks to all that showed up to the Intersection this past Friday for that benefit show. There were a tonne of people there and we definitely raised alot of money for Buck and his family!
It's so nice to see some faces that I don't usually get to see...
And as for Torrid, we're taking a break from playing for the next couple months to get our NEW DEMO finished up. We're looking at 5-6 brand new songs to be released early 2005. Please stay tuned to that.
thanks again mainteam. I'll talk to you all soon!

Shelter Bus Trip!
This Saturday (Nov. 13th) we are playing at the Shelter (www.standrewshall.com). The show is 18+ so come on out!
This is our 3rd show in Detroit for the Zippo Hot Tour and we are in the top 5 bands left in our region. This Saturday is a huge day for us because the votes we get at our show from fans will determine whether we will be in the top 8 bands in the ENTIRE country...or not!
We really need your help and support now more than ever so we decided to set up another BUS TRIP TO DETROIT! We have a bus rented out from Dadd's Magic bus and there are only a few spots left on it. So what the hell, why spend another night in Grand Rapids doing the same shit when you can come out to Detroit and party with us at the Shelter??? (as seen in the movie 8 mile)

Shows this weekend
We are playing 2 shows this weekend:
Tonite - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 1ST - RUBBLES in Mt. Pleasant
It's the owner's Birthday party and he has requested that Torrid come out and rock the shit out of the bar. Any of our fans and friends in that area, please come on out and say hello. It's been a while since we've seen many of you...
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2ND - TEN BELLS in Grand Rapids
You all know the routine for these shows. They are always a blast...but this time, if you print out this page and bring it to the bar, you get one $0.50 draft at the bar!!!
We are playing with a great new band called Late October and they've been steadily coming up in the Grand Rapids local scene. Check them out.
Well the ZIPPO HOT TOUR started out with over 900 bands across the USA. From there, they brought it down to the top 104 bands across the country to compete regionally for a shot at the National Title. Because of the tremendous response Torrid recieved online in the contest, we have now made the top 6 bands IN ALL OF MICHIGAN and the top 48 bands in THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. Torrid will now be heading down to Ann Arbor to compete for the regional finals where they will take the top band in Michigan down to Los Angeles for the National Championships. We're not all the way yet, but we made it farther than alot of other bands. Thank you to everyone for all your help online!!! EXPECT A BUS TRIP COMING IN NOVEMBER OR DECEMBER WHEN THE SHOW GETS BOOKED! ROCKRAVE II - SEPTEMBER 18TH!

Hey all,
just wanted to let you know that we took the gold at the MODERN ROCK 91.5FM Battle of the Bands in Mount Pleasent. 54 bands throughout the state applied, 4 finalists were chosen and one winner.
We now have an oversized gold trophy coming to the Chateau Linden and we are on regular rotation from now on. Tune in to 91.5FM if you're in or near the Mount Pleasent area or you can log on to their website (which I unfortunately do not have handy at the moment).
Other than that, we're still working on our bookings for the next few months so any bands in the Midwest, if you want some show trades, check our bio page for all our contact info.
Thanks to the MAINTEAM for whoopin' some ass up in Casino Country.

THE BIG WEEKEND IS OVER!!!
Well, we had two HUGE shows this weekend, and had 2 even bigger experiences.
Friday night at The Intersection for the Heavyweight Finals...WHAT A CROWD!!! I'm not sure, but I've never heard of any show that has had the Intersection sell out by 9:30pm. From what I heard, they were TOTALLY at capacity, which is over 1200 and the whole night there was a line around the corner. So HUGE HUGE ups to all the bands who played that night - Breaknek, Lungwurm, Kuru, Johnny Logic, 6 Prong Paw, and of course the 2004 Champs THE DEADLAST!
This music scene is amazing and ALL the bands that night were just so classy. I think if nothing else, we all strengthened our friendships that night forsure.
On to Toronto...this competition was probably the scariest thing I've ever been through. To start with, EVERY band I saw had a totally different sound and EVERY band I saw could have easily been a signed act. And on top of that, by roughly 8pm, most of the people in the bar were wearing Armani suits and looked like they were in the mob. Picture like an American Idol kind of deal except with video screens and camera men shooting footage for TV, and a panel of 7 judges who were all top-class A&R reps from around the country. I was pretty nervous to say the least...
...And the MAINTEAM represented like never before. All our friends from Grand Rapids, Windsor and all over Michigan and Ontario showed up and when we hit the stage, they hit that floor and the madness broke loose.
Although our set was pretty much flawless, we still weren't able to bring home the gold, but not to worry. Something VERY VERY important happened to me right after we played. In fact, it is SO important that I haven't even told anyone in my band yet :)
All I can say is THANK YOU SO SO MUCH MAINTEAM and everyone please make sure you keep an eye on the forum because I'll be making an announcement soon...
To my brothers in Torrid and our friends from all over, I'm outta here. Time to sleep
the skandalous one

ORBIT ROOM SHOW
Hey Mainteam, what's up? This is your boy Lukas D. First of all, I can't begin to say how thankful I am for all of you, my friends. You really really showed me a side of yourself that I've never seen before. I thought our CD Release Party was kick ass at The Intersection, but you just blew my mind last night at the Orbit Room. I've never felt so alive on stage before. I do have a confession to make though...I didn't want any of you feeling anxious about us while we played, but I have a really bad throat infection right now and I was hurting so bad I don't know how I even made it through the competition at all. Those of you at our after party knew about this I'm sure as I kind of disappeared and went to sleep 10 minutes after I got there. The point is, we did not advance and alot of the judges criticized my vocals for the night. All I can say is that I am sorry if any of you feel let down. Torrid is strong and we don't feel phased at all about not advancing. I give you MY WORD though that the next show we play for you guys in GR will be the CRAZIEST SHIT you've ever seen. I owe you all one...so congratulations to Joyride who advanced to the finals. I'm glad it was them because they are a great band full of great people. Make sure you keep an eye out for the guys if you can.
Tonight we're on our way to Flint, MI for round 2 of the K.O.UNDERGROUND TOUR with Hearsay Tao, Crackjaw, Arizing, and our boyz JETTARED. check out our tour site and see what's going down there. I added all your names to our forum there so you can post freely any time you like. ...and that's about it. I'll talk to you all again soon. Keep sending those emails and posting in the forum. and NEVER EVER EVER stop rollin' with the MAINSCENE.
your boy, Lukas D.

Our first date was this past Saturday in Toledo, Ohio at Headliner's and it fuc*ing kicked ass! 300 or so people showed up to see the bands in action and that was only the first date! There are all sorts of dates, pictures, forums and much more to come on that page! So check the shows that are near you and check out the other bands.
